Villas & Vistas Home and Garden Tour

We had a great time at the Lyon Park & Ashton Heights Home and Garden Tour on October 2, 2022 — and raised over $1,400 to benefit the Lyon Park Community Center.

Message from organizer Natalie Roy:

Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Home and Garden Tour a big success! Despite less than ideal conditions, we managed to pull off a successful community fundraiser and more importantly a wonderful neighborhood event.  We sold 101 tickets, which was a record.

First, thank you to the following homeowners below. Without them, there would be no home and garden tour. This year was a challenge to get people to volunteer. The folks listed below stepped up and went above and beyond welcoming folks into their beautiful homes. They provided history, insights, and fun facts about their houses. In some cases, this was the 2nd time homeowners volunteered.  We are grateful to these generous neighbors:

Lynn Spencer and Joseph Downey

Geoff Drucker and Michele Werner

Trish and Mark Montgomery

Elaine Simmons and John Ausink

Angie Gentile and Steve Dorst

Honor and Thomas O’Hare

Polly Panitz and Allen Joseph

Lisa Ruff and Hugh Donart

Benjamin and Cary Lynn Larson

A big shout out to our local sponsors who made either financial or in-kind contributions!  Thank you to TriVistaUSA Design+Build (Deborah and Michael Sauri), Troy’s Italian Kitchen, Texas Jacks BBQ, Conte’s Bike Shop, our great neighborhood band 1st Road North, and the Bicycling Realty Group of KW Metro Center!

And A BIG heartfelt thank you to our volunteers. It takes a village and this was no exception. Thank you to the following amazing folks who came out in the rain to help out: Kim Franklin, Maria Digiulian, Julia Young, Margaret Fibel, Hoda Moustafa, Anne Griffith, Susan Hildebrandt, Anne Bodine, and Cindy Hardeman! Big thanks to our incredible newsletter editors, Elaine Simmons and Michelle McMahon who promoted the event, served as docents and assisted all along the way. Also incredibly grateful to Uber Volunteer Paul Showalter who helped big time all throughout and was responsible for providing and serving Troy’s delicious pizza!

And finally, thank you to my neighborhood co-conspirator Elizabeth Sheehy for another amazing event. We hope to do this again in two years and hopefully, some of you are already thinking about putting your homes on the tour!  And for those of you who donated to the World Central Kitchen, a great group providing life-saving fresh meals around the world, including Florida, Puerto Rico, and Ukraine, you are the BEST!
